Kerjaya prospek unit wins Rm135mil contract

Kerjaya Prospek Bhd’s 49%-owned subsidiary Kerjaya Bina BMK Sdn Bhd has secured a Rm135.41mil contract from BBCC Development Sdn Bhd.

The contract is for a design-and-build job on the main building of a development off Jalan Hang Tuah and Jalan Pudu in Kuala Lompur.

It said in a filing with Bursa Malaysia that the vendor, BBCC Development, is a joint venture between the Employees Provident Fund, UDA Holdings Bhd and Eco World Development Group Bhd.

According to the group, the contract covers the design and build of a 31-storey serviced apartment, basement and podium with a seven-storey car park, main lobby and multipurpose hall.

The contract will commence on March 1, 2023, and be completed within 36 months, it said.

Kerjaya Prospek said the contract is expected to provide it with an additional revenue stream over the next three years.

For its third quarter ended Sept 30, 2022, Kerjaya Prospek’s net profit rose to Rm28.81mil from Rm24.18mil in the previous corresponding period, while revenue grew to Rm259.40mil from Rm222.64mil.

Basic earnings per share stood at 2.28 sen versus 1.95 sen previously.

Kerjaya Prospek also declared a third interim dividend of one sen per ordinary share, to be paid on Jan 6, 2023.

For the nine-month period ended Sept 30, 2022, Kerjaya Prospek’s net profit improved to Rm86.20mil from Rm66.57mil in the previous corresponding period, while revenue rose to Rm836.91mil from Rm681.21mil a year earlier.

In its notes on the third quarter performance, Kerjaya Prospek said it will continue to monitor and implement the appropriate business strategies in the final quarter of 2022.
