Stand out from the crowd

LONDON School of Business & Finance has a new approach to education – providing students not just with a Bachelor’s degree, but also with an international professional qualification or a Master’s degree as well.

It’s not a secret – the recent global economic slowdown has affected the employment market not only around the world, but right here in Malaysia.

More and more qualified university graduates are entering the Malaysian economy and are finding themselves hard at work competing for that dream career.

One Uk-based business school, the London School of Business & Finance (LSBF), hopes to give a few prospective students an edge with a unique new programme and a scholarship by none other than a British Royal.

Under the new scholarship scheme, specifically designed for Malaysian students, qualified undergraduate degree students would be eligible for a 100% scholarship for a post-graduate study – either for a Master’s degree or an internationally renowned professional qualification such as the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) or Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA). The unique combination would allow students to distinguish themselves from others who would have only graduated with an undergraduate degree alone, and to better compete for sought-after positions in the corporate world.

The scholarship scheme, under the His Royal Highness (HRH) Prince Michael of Kent Emerging Markets Scholarships, is expected to benefit 50 Malaysian students, and will be offered to those students who have demonstrated strong past academic performance, leadership experience or a dire financial need.

Prince Michael of Kent has been the Royal Patron of LSBF since 2005, and has awarded hundreds of scholarships over the years– this one being one of the latest.

As a part of this new scholarship programme, students enrolling onto the LSBF undergraduate degree programme, and benefiting from a 100% scholarship for a Masters degree or a professional qualification, would also benefit from a tailored career advisory service at LSBF.

This helps provide the students with another edge in their quest for employment.

Students would work with LSBF’S Careers Department and its corporate partners around the globe to convert their education, experience and professional qualification into a great job.

To make things even more innovative and accessible, upon graduation from its undergraduate degree programme LSBF would allow its students to complete the fully-funded Masters Degree or professional qualification in one of its campuses around the globe, or through online study on the innovative Interactive Study Platform.

This gives students the option to continue their studies either abroad or back home in Malaysia.

In fact, in addition to the scholarship scheme mentioned above, 10 more scholarships for foundation-programme studies have been confirmed for Malaysian students, each scholarship worth £9,500 (RM45,592).
