Automotive Basic Maintenance and Surviving Course

Come April 2012, Despark will introduce a new short course for the general public.

This course is suitable for those with no knowledge of servicing their car. It covers: - Checking oil - Putting fluid into a windshield wiper - Jumpstarting a car - Checking tyre pressure - The easiest way to change tyres “This course enables people to save cost besides helping their car parts last longer,” says Despark Auto Academy senior manager Ken Foo.

“What we teach here are survival skills. If you can do it yourself, there is no need to run to your mechanic at the smallest breakdown. It is also a safety precaution. Imagine if you are in a place with no reception and your car tyre punctures. Knowing how to do it yourself can get you out of a situation.

“We also give tips throughout the course. Most people don’t realise that they can actually save 30% of their fuel at traffic lights when they go on neutral instead of being on drive mode and stepping on the brake pedal.”

At the moment, Despark is the only academy offering these courses. Despark Auto Academy provides state-of-the-art academic facilities, quality education environment and excellence professional training programmes.

Their trainers are exposed to advanced techniques to increase their training ability and pass on new knowledge to produce professional automotive manpower.

The academy has co-organised with their collaboration partner, BOSCH to set up the Engine Management System Course (the first and only automotive academy that offers this course).
