Opportunities galore at President College
MOST students use college as a platform to discover their true calling and iron out the uncertainties faced in trying to make the best choices that suit them.
It is not uncommon for students to change their minds halfway after trying out subjects for the first time in college.
At President College, students are able to do this without getting bound to a particular institution due to the college’s open initiative policies. President College provides students with access and information regarding all their options and pathways.
Foundation programmes are structured to give the students more depth and scope in their chosen interest. It is in serving this need that President College has flourished in its popularity as one of the finest Pre-tertiary programme providers in the country evidenced by the exceptional four and five star rating recently given by the Ministry of Higher Education’s Myquest 2010 - 2011 Rating System.
One key characteristic of President College that sets it apart from others is the range of opportunities that are available for students.
Students from the college’s Foundation programmes have options of more than 150 degrees, from 84 universities across 11 countries from costly options like Canada, the UK and Australia to more affordable options like India, Indonesia, China Taiwan, Poland and Russia along with a host of local options as well to suit almost every budget and need.
Students need to know that they have options and they should be well informed regarding those options.
Usually, it requires a few counselling sessions and progression planning talks before they decide and refine their choices to suit their own personalised needs, ability and affordability.
All the programmes provided by the college are internationally recognised.
The differences between the programmes offered pertain to factors such as cost, time duration, methods implemented and the assessments.
President Academy also recommends specific foundation programmes to students with specific goals.
President Academy also has a close monitoring and supervision system that tracks the student’s academic performance.
Called Zest, parents are allowed access to academic results through the Zest student management system.
Zest has an e learning component, which allows students to have their notes, slides, e books, podcasts and video lectures online. The system is designed to keep pace with real-time learning in class and enables students to enhance their learning activity with the best online resources.
Zest now has a mobile device application that allows students to learn on-the-go.
In order to develop skills and personality, the college organises free Education 360 classes tailored to prepare students for their university and degree options.
The college also plays a key role in obtaining seats and managing a student’s application and progression plans to university as well as through their careers.
“From the moment a student registers with us, we have the skills, people, systems and partners to foster and nurture their success through the pre-tertiary phase to their degrees to their post graduate learning, etc.
“We never stop caring and guiding. We do this for all our students always and we are able to do so with a personal nature since our limited intakes allows us to give our best to all our students. We take care of students from end-toend giving them the best in content, process and development in Malaysia and the world over.
“That is who we are and what Education 360 is all about,” adds President College principal Mathieu Chauvinc.
