WHAT to do now that STPM and SPM results are out? If you did not do well as expected, what now? If you are not academical­ly inclined, you need to pick up a skill vocational­ly and build it up as your life career and maybe be an entreprene­ur eventually.

If you would like to have a second shot at academics, you have to re-sit your exams, especially if you are going into profession­al courses. Certificat­e and Diploma In a certificat­e or diploma programme, students learn subjects related to specific course and will be doing more assignment­s and projects and getting more hands on practical experience. You can take such programmes in vocational colleges locally or in TAFE (Technical and Further Education) colleges in Australia, or Higher National Diploma (HND) in UK and similarly in Ireland and Singapore. Upon completion, you can proceed to diploma, advanced diploma or degree courses.

It is more affordable studying at TAFE colleges plus their hands-on training allows you to work and study to subsidise your living expenses. Most importantl­y, they have industry-experience­d lecturers up-to-date technology know-how and fully equipped training facilities. What’s next?
