Suarez news gives defenders the blues

-

LONDON: Kenny Dalglish says the news which has delighted Liverpool will send shivers of fear through the rest of the Premier League.

Luis Suarez (pic) has insisted he wants to stay at Anfield for the long-term, despite the speculation over his future after a controversy-packed season.

When the Uruguay striker was found guilty of racially abusing Patrice Evra and banned for eight games, many thought he would cut and run in the summer.

But Suarez, contracted until 2016, revealed on Sunday that he is more than happy with life on Merseyside.

Reds boss Dalglish said: “It’s certainly encouraging for us, although it might be bad news for the other Premier League teams.

“Luis has always said he is happy here, so it’s great for everyone who supports us.

“I don’t think he has been anything other than a threat to the opposition.

“So we are delighted with the wee man’s comments and we have been delighted with him since he has been here.

“Luis has made a contribution every time he has stepped out on to the pitch.

“He scores goals, creates goals and it’s great news that he is happy.”
