Love reading, love learning

-

ALL children love a good story and there is nothing like a good book to ignite the curiosity of learning for any child.

However, we see so many students always being pushed to read more difficult books. Often, they can read the words but they do not really understand the basic ideas of the stories they are reading.

One of the most important foundations of learning the English language that is cultivated at Morris Allen English is a love of reading.

All lessons involve reading – students take home books to read each week and also engage in book reviews as a component of their lessons. Qualified native Englishspeaking teachers interact with the students to help them quench their thirst for reading. Good teachers sow the seeds of learning by unlocking the wonder of words and literacy.

Morris Allen English offers regular English language enrichment classes for students from as young as four up to 17. Morris Allen English uses an interactive teaching approach that engages students in fun learning. Oral language and personal confidence are nurtured as each student is supported to speak and be listened to in small classes.

Vocabulary and grammar are integrated into all lessons where all students are supported with the strategies to help them become confident English language scholars.

Writing is one of the popular components of lessons where students practise and share their vocabulary and grammar strategies. The experienced teachers are experts at nurturing students to allow them to grow to their potential for learning the English language. The students enjoy attending classes because the teachers believe that students learn better when they have fun learning.

Morris Allen English also runs short courses, which are supplementary classes that students can take to improve certain areas of the language. This term, it is running Creative Writing for Year 1 to 6 students.

For the younger four- to fiveyear-old students, there is also a short Phonics course where the students learn the important sounds of letters and words.

For students in Year 6, there is a short UPSR Preparation course, which concentrates on mastering the language skills to support the students in reaching their full potential in this important examination.
