KAJANG: It was a not-so-classic tale of boy meets girl, they fall in love, get married and have kids.

In this case, the boy wooed the girl, raped her, said sorry and offered marriage. Then he forced her to get an abortion after she found out she was pregnant.

Police said the 24-year-old man picked up the girl from her campus hostel in Jalan Kuching in April and took her out for a “romantic night” at Lookout Point in Ampang.

He then took her to Jalan Bukit Permai at about 10.30pm where he was said to have forced himself on her and raped her in his car.

“After the incident, he claimed he was remorseful and apologised to the girl. To make it up to her, he said he would marry her,” said Kajang OCPD Asst Comm Willey Richard.

The traumatised 21-year-old student rejected her unemployed boyfriend’s proposal.

The man then turned aggressive and demanded that she keep the rape a secret, or he would reveal to her family and friends that she was no longer a virgin.

“About a month later, she started to feel sick. She went to the doctor and found out she was pregnant.

“So she met up with the suspect and told him the news. The man gave her Cytotec pills to induce an abortion,” ACP Willey said.

Buckling under his threats, the woman did as she was told. She was admitted to the hospital a week later after complaining of pain in her abdomen.

Doctors confirmed that she had lost her month-old foetus.

Pressed by her family, she broke down and told them about the events that happened over the past month.

Police arrested the boyfriend in his house in Sri Gombak at about 3am yesterday.

“When we questioned him, he confessed to raping the victim and forcing her to take the pills.

“He will be remanded until Monday,” ACP Willey said.
