Four killed in separate road accidents

MARANG: Two motorcyclists were killed while six others sustained injuries after the group was involved in an accident at Km 57 of Jalan Kuala Terengganu-Kuantan, near Kampung Merchang here.

Terengganu Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department acting chief Asst Supt Ismail Man said in the 9.15pm incident on Friday, the victims, identified as Mohd Syahidzam Azhar, 25, and his friend Muhammad Raif Ramli, 22, died at the scene, Bernama reports.

ASP Ismail said the bodies of the deceased were sent to the Sultanah Nur Zahirah Hospital’s forensic unit for post mortem while those injured sought treatment at the Dungun Hospital.

In Sabah, two people were killed in a three-vehicle accident along Jalan Mesuli Sandau in Lahad Datu district yesterday afternoon.

The two, who were in a fourwheel drive, were among five people involved in the accident at about 1.30pm.

The identities of the victims were not disclosed.
