New exams council head

MOHD Fauzi Mohd Kassim has been appointed as Malaysian Examinatio­ns Council (MEC) chief executive effective July 19.

He takes over from Dr Jamil Adimin who has retired.

Mohd Fauzi previously served as MEC deputy chief executive 1 and is an expert in measuremen­ts and assessment­s at the pre-university level.

He obtained his Bachelor of Arts majoring in Malay Literature from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia and a Master’s of Education in measuremen­ts and assessment­s from Universiti Malaya.

He also obtained a Diploma in Education from Institut Bahasa, Kuala Lumpur.

Mohd Fauzi started serving at the Malaysian Examinatio­ns Council from November 1994. He was previously a teacher at Segamat High School, Johor.
