ALL FOR HARMONY

It’s vital that we maintain it among all races, says Suria FM’s DJ Lin.

- LUMPUR:

KUALA Maintaining racial harmony and peace is something that all Malaysians should achieve together.

Suria FM announcer Roslinda Abdul Majid, or more fondly known as DJ Lin, said as Malaysians, it is vital that we maintain this harmony among all races.

“We live in a multi-cultural society comprising different races and we have to maintain this for our future generations.

“Since the country’s independence, our parents have been fighting for this,” she said.

To show our love for the country, DJ Lin urged Malaysians to literally walk the talk and participate in the Anak-Anak Malaysia Walk.

“Mutual respect and understanding of other races are what kept us going as a nation.

“It is a walk for all Malaysians; let us put aside our differences and celebrate our love for the country,” she said.

The Anak-Anak Malaysia Walk 2016 – ahead of the National Day celebrations – will kick off at the Bukit Bintang City Centre on Aug 14.

It celebrates Malaysia’s diversity and promotes unity and understanding among the people.

The 3.4km walk, starting from the junction of Jalan Imbi and Jalan Pudu at the site of the former Pudu Jail, will be flagged off by Kuala Lumpur Mayor Datuk Seri Mhd Amin Nordin Abd Aziz.

DJ Lin, who hosts the Suria Cinta show, is proud to be an “anak Malaysia”.

“One segment of our show is called Cari Cinta (Finding Love) in which I help Malaysians find new friends and partners.

“We see people of different races getting acquainted and this warms my heart,” she said.

#AnakAnakMalaysia Walk is organised by Star Media Group, in collaboration with Ecoworld. Other sponsors for the event include Car Sponsor: Proton, Gold Sponsor: Panasonic and Silver Sponsors: Tenaga Nasional and YES.
