Honoured for outstanding performance

-

TWENTY five students who excelled in their final year examinations last year were selected from hundreds of entries to emerge as the best of the best for the annual Brand’s Smart Achievers Award.

The students who included those from secondary schools and tertiary institutions, travelled from Sabah, Johor, Penang, Pahang, Perak and Negri Sembilan, to attend the special awards ceremony held at Cerebos Malaysia. Many of them were accompanied by their parents.

The event recognises top achievers who excelled in both their academic and extra-curricular performance.

“For a decade, Brand’s has been awarding top performing students with cash prizes as well as due recognition among their peers as they join the elite group of Brand’s Smart Achievers Award.

“This award goes beyond academic results as it also requires outstanding performance in their co-curricular activities for entry into this elite club,” said Cerebos Malaysia vice president and general manager Koh Joo Siang.

Since the programme was initiated in 2006, Brand’s has recognised the achievements of a total of 228 elite students and has to date presented cash awards amounting to RM223,000 including the RM29,000 at the recent ceremony.

The award has four categories with respective cash prize awards — RM500 for PT3/UEC Form Three, SPM (RM1,000), STPM/UEC Form Six and pre-university (RM1,500) and university or college exams (RM2,000).

Brand’s will also be visiting 32 selected secondary schools and tuition centres in the weeks leading up to the national examinations where they will share study tips and give away 17,000 bottles of Brand’s Essence of Chicken.
