Singer spices up life with successful chili farming business

-

REALITY TV star Ayu Damit knows how to spice things up after she ventured into chili farming, reported Sinar Harian.

The One in a Million 2 champion, who is known for her single Hanya di Mercu, ventured in chili fertigation with her husband Syed Fuzi Baharuddin early this year after learning about the agricultural business.

She planned to make her chili farming business a longterm project considering the huge market demand for chillies. “Thank God, it has been going really well. “Initially, I thought it was easy. However, I realised it has its own challenges,” she added.

To ensure that her chillies are of good quality, the couple took three to four months conducting research with farming experts before deciding to start their business.

“After a few months, we began to see positive results,” she said.

Ayu also said she would not retire from her singing career. “I still perform at live shows,” she said. “Maybe fans do not see me much on television because I haven’t come out with a new song yet,” the singer added.

> Kosmo! reported that a crocodile was spotted lurking near a flat in Taman Seri Sentosa near Jalan Klang Lama, Kuala Lumpur, on Friday night.

The appearance of the twometre reptile shocked around 1,000 residents of the flat located about six metres from Sungai Klang.

The crocodile reportedly reappeared at about 7pm on Saturday behind the Petaling police station.

Kuala Lumpur Fire and Rescue Department chief operations officer Samsol Maarif Saibani said a team of firemen from Bukit Jalil station was rushed to the location after receiving a call at 9.58pm.

Samsol told the paper the crocodile could have come from the old tin mine pond in Puchong, which is connected to the river.

A source from the Wildlife and National Parks Department (Perhilitan) said crocodiles would sometimes surface to rest on riverbanks.

“We have records on crocodile appearances along Sungai Klang in the past, but we are not sure of the exact number of the reptiles in the area,” the source said.
