Storytelling to bring families together

-

McDONALD’s Malaysia has kicked off of a nationwide storytelling contest, organised in conjunction with its annual Happy Meal Book Programme.

Parents can submit entries showcasing their child’s talents until Oct 26 through Instagram and by confirming their participation on McDonald’s official website.

Held for the first time on a big scale by McDonald’s Malaysia, the contest offers up to RM70,000 worth of prizes to be won including a family holiday to Warner Bros. Movie World theme park in Australia as the grand prize.

“McDonald’s is proud to launch its Fourth Annual Happy Meal Book Programme, an initiative in line with our mission to bring families closer together over a shared love for reading and telling stories.

“This year’s programme promises to be bigger and more exciting than ever before as we are shining a light on hidden or emerging talents in our children through the nationwide storytelling contest,” said McDonald’s Malaysia senior director marketing and communications Melati Abdul Hai.

“With the exciting line-up of activities targeting Malaysian families to be held at our restaurants including our annual Happy Meal Book Programme, we hope to be able to do our part in building stronger families within our communities,” added Melati.

At the conclusion of the submission period, all video entries will be screened with shortlisted entries selected to perform their stories in ‘live’ auditions to be hosted at selected McDonald’s restaurants nationwide.

What’s more, shortlisted applicants will also stand a chance to score their school supplementary prizes worth up to RM5,000.

The Grand Finale will be held on Dec 3 with details on time and venue to be announced later.
