Ezzri lives up to top billing in Grand Finals
PETALING Muhammad Ezzri Nasri of Penang lived up to his top billing by winning the boys’ Under-19 crown at the CIMB Foundation National Junior Grand Finals squash championships.
The 18-year-old Ezzri proved too good for Kuala Lumpur’s second seed Muhd Aqif Ampandi, winning 11-8, 9-11, 11-7, 11-9 in the final at the National Squash Centre in Bukit Jalil yesterday. Ezzri had also beaten Aqif in the finals of the other two legs in the circuit.
In the girls’ Under-19 final, Ooi Kah Yan of Negri Sembilan outplayed third seed Chan Yiwen 11-5, 11-6, 11-8.
