KOTA BARU: Former PAS senior leader Datuk Husam Musa gatecrashed a ceramah that had been organised to humiliate him for criticising the party, causing a stir among the speakers.

Husam, the Salor assemblyman who was sacked from PAS and then joined Amanah last year, turned up unexpectedly at the talk here on Monday night titled “Husam lari dari debat baiah” (Husam is running away from debating on the religious oath of allegiance).

The ceramah, held near the entrance of the Sultan Muhammad IV Stadium, is believed to have been organised by the state PAS Youth.

Husam surprised everyone on the stage and many in the audience when he suddenly appeared at 11pm as the ceramah was in full swing.

He sat down among PAS leaders just a row behind the invited speakers, who included Kelantan PAS information chief and exco member Datuk Nasuruddin Daud.

As he sat on the stage, Nasuruddin and Ketereh PAS division chief Datuk Wan Ismail Wan Jusoh attacked him in their speeches.

A PAS supporter in the audience then challenged Husam to a debate at the main arena.

After that, a shouting match erupted between the supporters of PAS and Husam.

Husam was then asked to leave by the organiser’s security team.

He obliged and left the stage to mingle with the audience.

Nasuruddin then took the microphone and continued to criticise Husam, claiming Husam had sent him three letters to debate the baiah issue.

Husam left the venue after several minutes.

He later organised a gathering at a shop in front of the Kota Darul Naim state government complex, drawing a crowd of Amanah supporters.

“I was invited to the ceramah and came in the hope of debating with Nasuruddin,” he said.

Husam said he had put in a request to speak at the ceramah, but claimed that it was turned down.

He said Kelantan PAS and Nasuruddin should not have used his name in a contentious ceramah or portrayed him as being afraid to debate.

I was invited to the ceramah and came in the hope of debating with Nasuruddin. Datuk Husam Musa
