Taiwan actress declares surprise wedding on social media

TAIWANESE actress Ady An Yixuan (pic) announced on Weibo that she has married a wealthy Macau businessma­n.

According to Guang Ming Daily, friends and fans were surprised to hear the news on Wednesday as the 36-year-old artiste had never indicated her intention to get married.

The couple took their pre-wedding photograph­s in Italy recently.

An, who rose to popularity after starring in the drama series The Outsiders in 2004, is also recognised and lauded for her role in The Legend of Hero, Go, Single Lady and All Men are Brothers.

> A five-year-old was saved but her fouryear-old relative was killed in a pre-dawn fire in Dengkil, Selangor, Sin Chew Daily reported.

The two children were asleep when the fire broke out at about 4am on Wednesday.

The deceased’s father, who had been taking care of the duo, had gone out to buy food at the time the fire broke out.

A neighbour rushed in to try and save the children but only managed to save the girl.

Firemen put out the blaze and had found the boy’s body in one of the bedrooms.

Deputy Women, Family and Community Developmen­t Minister Datin Paduka Chew Mei Fun urged parents not to leave their children alone at home without adult supervisio­n.

> The operator of an Ipoh funeral parlour was shocked to find their hearse stolen, China Press reported.

The modified Naza Ria MPV was worth about RM15,000, said the report.

The operator, Cai Li Li, said that her worker had parked the car there on Saturday night but found it missing the next day.

Cai said she was forced to borrow a hearse from another operator on that day.

A police report has been lodged.
