PETALING JAYA: The Star is organising a Walk the Distance virtual walkathon for those attending the Fit For Life KL 2017 fair.

The virtual walk is all about promoting a healthy lifestyle, and a good way to begin is by walking at least 7,000 steps a day. For three weeks, participants will be challenged to walk more.

Participants will need to download a step counter app on their smartphones before they start the challenge.

They can walk anywhere, anytime within the three-week time frame.

If a total of at least 210,000 steps were made in that three-week period, participants will be given a token of participation, as well as a chance to participate in the Grand Finale, Virtual Walk Star Fit For Life 2017, which will be held on April 21-23 at Mid Valley Exhibition Centre.

To participate:

Step 1: Register at http://sites.the-

star.com.my/fflvirtualwalk

Step 2: Download any step counter app.

Step 3: Take a snapshot of your counter and upload it.

Step 4: Save your step data and show us the number of steps you have taken at Fit For Life KL 2017 in Mid Valley Exhibition Centre.

Step 5: Each day, the first 100 participants who qualify are eligible to participate in the Grand Finale.

Further details of the Grand Finale will be given to participants who qualify on the day itself.

The top 10 walkers for the Grand Finale will win prizes. Winners will be announced on a later date after the fair.
