A Beauty-ful ending

The controversy over Disney’s live-action film Beauty and the Beast was put to rest when the movie was approved for release – without any cuts – in Malaysia with a rating of PG13 from March 30 onwards.

Cabbies protest

A group of taxi drivers protested against GrabCar and Uber outside the Parliament building, carrying placards and chanting slogans opposing the popular ride-hailing services. The group claimed that the ride-hailing services were flouting the law and carrying out “illegal activities.”

‘No’ to permit

The police rejected the permit application for a debate between Tourism and Culture Minister Datuk Seri Nazri Aziz and former prime minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad. Acting Perak police chief Deputy Comm Datuk Hasnan Hassan said the Kuala Kangsar district police felt it was not in the best interest of the people there.
