My favourite speaker was Major Shera Ann Bosco. She persevered through hardship and was successful. When I was younger, I dreamt of being in the army. I got a chance to speak with Major Shera after the talk and she encouraged me to sign up with the National Defence University of Malaysia. I may just consider it! I also loved Maria Cordero. It was so inspiring to listen to how she was never greedy, how she never gave up and never let people push her around. – Student Kay Lim, 16

As a soft skills trainer myself, I find that often my energy levels hit rock bottom. It was really inspiring to know that all these amazing women have gone through so many hardships and have emerged stronger. My small problems pale in comparison to what they have gone through. Maria Cordero has such a great spirit, and she spoke from the heart. – Corporate trainer Hanim Abdul Rahman, 47

I have my husband and our three boys – aged seven, five and two – in tow because I want to show my support for Caring Moms, which has given me an opportunity to earn extra income for my kids. – Atrica Soo, HR executive, 33

The talks benefited not only women but also men. It is a good platform to listen to the experiences of all these successful speakers and learn from them. I hope to see more of such events in future! – International shoe designer Datuk Jimmy Choo, 69

There aren’t many talks that focus on female empowerment... that’s why I really wanted to come today. I was not disappointed. All the speakers were very inspiring but I loved Aireen Omar’s talk most. – Student Nurul Nadia Nasaruddin, 21

The speakers were all really inspiring and encouraging. Listening to them makes me proud to be a woman and has motivated me to do better and make a difference. If they can, I can too. – Lawyer Priyashini Manoharan, 25

I am really interested in feminism and women’s empowerment and I’m looking to start a club at my school. This was one of the coolest experiences of my life and I’m so blessed that my mum brought me here. All the women here are so influential and just so amazing and I’m so honoured to be here. – Student Zoe Tan, 16

I live in Canada but I’m back for a vacation. I’m at the Caring Moms bazaar with my 15-month-old son, my sister and my mum, to show our support. I got to explore all the interesting stalls that I previously read about online. Caring Moms helps busy mums such as myself get goods and services that we need while supporting other mums. – Ranjani Nair, 43

There were so many good speakers! The talks really gave us women a boost, energy, and motivation. They lent their strength to empower other women. I took down notes as the speakers gave out a lot of good learning points. – HR services provider Esther Lo, 48

The talks are very uplifting and empowering. Tan Sri Rafidah Aziz delivered a fiery speech; so did Maria Cordero. People would pay thousands of ringgit for this kind of event but we got to enjoy it for free. Thanks to Star Media Group (and AirAsia)! – Company director Komathy Rathnam, 53
