Chinese farmers left stranded at airport due to bogus job offers

ANOTHER 11 farmers from China have been conned by bogus agents offering them lucrative jobs at a construction site in Johor, reported China Press.

The farmers, who are from the Shaanxi, Jiangsu and Henan provinces, were left stranded at Senai International Airport.

Upon learning of their plight, the Senai Villagers Association offered the Chinese farmers a place to stay while they waited to return home.

Association secretary Liu Zhi Ping said they also offered the farmers food.

It was previously reported that 25 farmers from China had paid between 20,000 yuan (RM12,767) and 60,000 yuan (RM38,302) to a bogus agent who offered them jobs in Johor.

They returned to their country after staying at the airport for days.

Her husband Kenneth Fok Kai-kong, the eldest son of Hong Kong tycoon Timothy Fok, announced the news on Weibo.

The 37-year-old also posted a photo of his four-year-old son Lawrence kissing his newborn sister.

Guo, 35, retired in 2011 after bagging four Olympic gold medals and eight world titles.

> Nanyang Siang Pau reported that some 20 sales staff members in Shenzen, China, were forced by their manager to drink soy sauce in the office after failing to meet their targets.

In a video clip, the manager said the staff members would also be asked to drink chilli sauce if they could not perform.

When one of the them was heard saying that she was not well, the manager told her that she had to leave the company if she did not drink.
