KUALA KUBU BARU: Police have detained a female driver who was involved in a crash on the NorthSouth Expressway in which a threemonth-old baby was killed.

Hulu Selangor OCPD Supt R. Supramaniam said the 27-year-old driver tested negative for drugs.

However, her blood samples have been sent to Hospital Sungai Buloh for additional alcohol and drug tests.

The woman’s car is believed to have spun around and crashed into the road barrier on the highway near Kuala Kubu Baru on Sunday.

The impact caused the driver of another car, Shahril Salleh, 32, to lose control of his vehicle, which skidded and crashed into a drain.

His wife Rafnah Mongudancgal, 35, and their baby, Aril Rizqin Redza Sharil, were thrown out of the car. The baby was confirmed dead at Hospital Sungai Buloh.

Shahril, his wife and two other sons, Aril Hakimi Ashraf, 11, and Aril Zakuan Haris, four, sustained minor injuries.

The couple are still undergoing treatment at the hospital.
