Man escapes death while sleeping under trailer

IPOH: A man nearly died from being crushed by a trailer near Batu 6, Tambun, here, after he fell asleep under the vehicle.

In the incident at about 5.50am yesterday, the 39yearold victim reportedly suffered severe injuries to his left leg.

Ipoh Fire and Rescue Department chief P. Samasuvam said the victim, who lived in Taman Bagus, Ulu Kinta, about 6km from the scene, was believed to be drunk when he fell asleep under the trailer.

“We received a call from the public informing us about the incident,” he said.

“When we arrived at the scene, the victim could not move as his leg was broken after being crushed by the trailer. However, he was not trapped.”

Samasuvam said firemen removed the victim from under the truck and he was sent to the Raja Permaisuri Bainun Hospital for treatment. — Bernama
