Brazilian Ederson set for talks with City

-

LONDON: Benfica star Ederson (pic) is set to fly into Manchester for talks with Manchester City over a £43mil (RM236mil) switch.

The Brazilian will then have a medical on tomorrow before sealing the world record deal, according to Sky Sports.

The 23-year-old was also targeted by rivals Manchester United, but Pep Guardiola has swooped first to make sure he has a number one ready for the new season.

The mega-money move would make Ederson the most expensive goalkeeper of all time, following Gianluigi Buffon £32mil (RM176mil) switch to Juventus.

Despite the huge cash involved, the youngster has still yet to make a full appearance for the Brazilian national team.

Ederson admitted at the weekend that Benfica’s Cup final win over Vitoria would “probably” be his last game for the club.

The stopper was quickly moved for with Willy Caballero leaving City after his deal expires in a few days time.

Joe Hart is set to return to the club, but is seemingly not wanted by Guardiola and will be sold.

Claudio Bravo joined from Barcelona only last summer for £17mil (RM93mil) but has made a number of high profile mistakes over the campaign.

City have moved fast in this transfer window, having already sealed a £43mil deal for Monaco star Bernardo Silva.

He flew in for talks on Friday before making the move under the noses of United, who were also interested.
