Run for a cause

THE alumni from Tunku Abdul Rahman University College (TAR UC), also known as the TARCian Alumni Associatio­n (TAA) and TAR UC are jointly organising its annual event “TARCian Run 2017”, on Aug 13.

This year marks the third consecutiv­e year that the TARCian Run is being organised.

It will be held concurrent­ly at the KL Main Campus, Penang Branch Campus, Johor Branch Campus, Perak Branch Campus and Sabah Branch Campus.

The theme is “Malaysia Negaraku My Nation”.

Organising chair Lim Kok Eng said the TARCian Run on the five campuses are hoping to target 10,000 participan­ts.

“We welcome all TARCians and members of the public to join us.

“We offer early bird registra- tion discount for TAR UC staff and students until June 30,” he told a press conference.

Also present were TARCian Alumni Associatio­n vice president Datuk Chan Wah Kang and president Datuk Yap Kuak Fong, TAR UC president Datuk Dr Tan Chik Heok and vice president Dr Chook Ka Joo and TARC Education Foundation Board of Trustees member Datuk Yew Teong Look.

The closing date for the registrati­on will be on July 15.

All runners taking part in the TARCian Run are entitled to get a free T-shirt and finisher medal for those who complete the run within the stipulated time.

More than RM30,000 worth of prizes are up for grabs.

TAA Perak Charter Chairman Jojo Teh Hui Ping and TAA Penang Charter Chairman Edmund Tan Wei Hong will be holding the TARCian Run at TAR UC Kampar and Penang concurrent­ly with the TAR UC Main Campus.

This event is part of initiative­s to build and enhance rapport among alumni, graduates, students, staff of TAR UC and the public in general.

This is also to promote a healthy lifestyle with a target to raise RM50, 000 funds for the TAR UC Education Foundation. For more informatio­n on TARCian Run 2017, visit www.
