> Caring society

All banks should be considerate towards senior citizens and allocate special counters or give them priority when they come to do their transactions. Let’s be a caring society.

> More cameras

Looks like the AES is working. Fewer accidents have been recorded during this Hari Raya festival compared to previous years. So please put more AES cameras in place. – N. V. Subbarow, Penang

> Let them be

Those who criticised the heroic AirAsia pilots for asking passengers to pray are godless people. Just ignore them. They are simply not humans. – Prof (B)

> Fine the smokers

There’s a lot of people smoking in the hospital compounds. At Hospital Sultanah Aminah Johor Baru, people are smoking at the car park of the Polyclinic and near the entrance to the hospital. Complaint was sent to the director of the hospital but no action was taken. We should fine the smokers RM10,000.

> Right direction

Trans-border human trafficking violates the sanctity of life and devalues dignity and endangers innocent lives. Our country’s recent upgrade from Tier 2 Watch List to Tier 2 in the United State’s Trafficking In Persons Report is a definite move in the right direction. A Tier 1 placement which fully meets the requirements of the TVPA is the next target. Come down hard on locals who are involved in and abet this despicable trade. – 5th Beatle

> Play it again

“One Thousand Million Smiles” sung by our late Sudirman is a beautiful song. I’m surprised our radio stations aren’t playing it.

> Crowded hospitals

Government hospitals are very crowded these days. Access to health care is a major issue. Not all can afford to go to private hospitals. The Government should seriously look into this matter. – Subra

> Enforce, please

Totally agree that the enforcement of the no-smoking rule in designated zones is poorly done. Step up the enforcement, please, otherwise stop talking about having a smoke-free country!

> World Cup, here we come! > Where did the radar go?

Well done to our men’s hockey team who showed a never die spirit in the recent London tournament. Our football team can definitely learn from them.

The authorities should give top priority to investigate the disappearance of the radar equipment. Hopefully it doesn’t fall into the wrong hands.
