Fly it, ‘wear’ it and snap it

Malaysians invited to get creative as National Day approaches

Star Media Group invites Malaysians to show their pride for the nation with its Raise The Flag campaign.

PETALING JAYA: The Jalur Gemilang will soon fly high at schools, offices and homes as the National Day celebrations fast approach.

Star Media Group is inviting Malaysians to show their pride for their nation with the Raise The Flag campaign, which will kick off with a special four-page wrap on July 24 containing the Jalur Gemilang.

Readers can cut out the niftily-designed flag and assemble this for display as we count down the days to the nation’s milestone celebration.

Look out also for T-shirt templates in the centrespread of the newspaper.

Let your creative juices flow and design a Malaysian-inspired motif on your T-shirt, cut it out, “wear” it, then snap lots of photos while waving your Jalur Gemilang.

Take a series of selfies or better yet, gather friends and family and sit down for a fun craft session, followed by an even more fun photoshoot.

Hashtag your best poses as #RaiseTheFlagMY on social media.

Students can flood their classroom walls with the Jalur Gemilang and send in photos of their smiling selves and their teachers “wearing” their gaily- decorated T- shirts against the sea of flags.

Prizes await the best efforts and you may just see yourselves published in print and online!

The flag and T-shirt templates will be published together off and on throughout the two-month campaign that seeks to unite Malaysians in the spirit of patriotism and togetherness while fostering optimism, racial harmony and hope for the future of the country.

Two major events parked under Raise The Flag include the Ride for Malaysia to be held on July 30 with Sunsuria Bhd at the SunSuria City Celebration Centre in Sepang, and the #AnakAnakMalaysia Walk with Eco World Development Group Bhd on Aug 27 at Dataran Kemerdekaan, Shah Alam.

Schools and corporations, act fast! Place bulk orders for the July 24 issue by contacting The Star’s Customer Care unit at 1-300-88-7827 (Monday to Friday, 9am-5pm) or your designated audience management representatives.
