#AnakAnakMalaysia Walk 2017 gets strong support from Naza siblings.

KUALA LUMPUR: The #AnakAnakMalaysia Walk 2017 has received strong support from three corporate figures – the Naza brothers.

Siblings – Datuk Wira SM Faisal SM Nasimuddin, SM Nasarudin and SM Faliq – lauded the walk as it would bring Malaysians together.

“This is a unique event. This year is really special as the Selangor Ruler Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah will flag off the event in Shah Alam on Aug 27.

“We hope to be there to walk with our fellow Malaysians in a show of unity, patriotism and moderation.

“Such demonstrations of national unity are very much needed to show that we, in a way, walk the talk,” said Faliq.

Faisal agreed, saying they were emulating their father’s principle of tolerance and unity.

When growing up, Faisal said he and his siblings were always encouraged to mingle with other races.

“I can remember visiting the homes of my father’s business associates of all races.

“This has helped me cultivate an appreciation for people across the board,” he said.

Nasarudin said because of their background, it was only natural for them to be supportive of the #AnakAnakMalaysia Walk.

“This walk is timely and a necessity today. We feel it is a positive move ahead of the National Day celebration, to try to bring Malaysians of all walks of life together,” he said.

The event, he added, was the perfect way to mark Malaysia’s 60th birthday in true spirit and form.

Nasarudin said unity was the key ingredient to making Malaysia “special”.

Without it, Malaysians would lose their identity, he said.

The Naza brothers are part of the growing number of personalities who have pledged their strong support for the #AnakAnakMalaysia Walk 2017, with an expected 5,000 participants.

The #AnakAnakMalaysia Walk 2017 will be held at Dataran Kemerdekaan Shah Alam in Selangor. Participants will gather at the venue at 6.30am for the flag-off.

The registration fee for families (two adults plus two children) is RM80, while the fees for individual adults (18 years and above) is RM40 and individual child (12 years and below) is RM15.

Registration for this year’s walk is open until Aug 5 and can be made at http://sites. thestar.com.my/aamwalk/.

Returning for its third consecutive year, the #AnakAnakMalaysia Walk is organised by the Star Media Group in conjunction with National Day.

The #AnakAnakMalaysia campaign started in 2015 .
