Blues surge for Sergio

Chelsea chase sensational deal for Aguero

-

LONDON: Chelsea are reportedly chasing a sensational deal for Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero.

And AS newspaper claims Pep Guardiola has already given the green light to the shock move this summer. Chelsea are searching far and wide for a new striker after Antonio Conte dumped Diego Costa via text message.

The Blues were gazumped by Manchester United in the race for Romelu Lukaku and are finding things tough in their pursuit of Alvaro Morata.

Italy international Andrea Belotti has also been linked with Chelsea, while PierreEmerick Aubameyang could be available for a whopping £70mil (RM392mil).

However, Sainz reckons that Conte is targeting Aguero instead, with the Argentine arguably the best forward in the English Premier League.

Aguero has scored an incredible 169 times in just 253 appearances during six years at City.

And his clinical finishing, combined with the skills of Eden Hazard, Pedro and Willian, could be just what Chelsea need to successfully defend their title.

Interestingly, it’s added that Conte won’t even face any resistance in his pursuit of the Argentina international.

Guardiola, who famously dropped Aguero on several occasions last season, appears to have made Gabriel Jesus his first-choice striker.

And the tactician is allegedly more than happy for Chelsea to take Aguero off his hands, having already given his blessing to the proposed deal.

Meanwhile, Southampton are reportedly leading the chase for Chelsea striker Loic Remy. The French hitman is set to leave the Blues this summer with the Saints in the driving seat for his signature.

Metro Sport also claim that Premier League rivals Everton and Marseille are interested in bringing the forward to Goodison Park.

Remy, 30, has failed to establish himself at Stamford Bridge since his arrival in 2014 from Queens Park Rangers.

Injuries have not helped his cause, but his lack of opportunity has led to him playing just 32 top-flight matches in his three years at the club.

He joined Crystal Palace on a season-long loan during the last campaign in a bid to rejuvenate his career.

That failed to happen as he was struck down by a knee injury just a fortnight after joining to bring a premature end to the move.

Now back fit, the forward is pushing for a move from Conte’s outfit once again in order to find regular game time.

The Italian boss is happy for Remy to depart the club, but he will only allow him to do so once he brings in a new No. 9 himself.

Remy, who Chelsea forked out £10.5mil (RM59mil) on three years ago, has just one year remaining on his contract.

French side Rennes are also keen on giving him a chance to reignite his career.

He is likely to be available for around half that figure with the club not wanting to send him out on loan ago. Remy showed he still possesses the finishing touch that made him feared amongst defenders on Saturday.
