Teen badly injured during robbery recovering well

-

THE family of a teenager who was severely beaten during a robbery is greatly relieved that she has regained consciousness after a 10-day struggle for her life, Harian Metro reported.

The incident occurred on July 7 when Syazana Amirah Ashaari, 14, a Form Two student at SMK Bandar Seri Putra, was attacked and badly injured by two robbers who broke into her house in Kampung Masjid Bangi, Kajang, Selangor. Her neck was fractured and her jaw broken.

Syazana’s sister Nuratikah Ashaari said Syazana started showing signs of improvement after waking up from a coma in the ICU of Hospital Kuala Lumpur on Tuesday.

Syazana has been moved to a reg- ular ward and is gradually recovering.

“My sister still needs further treatment although she can now talk and walk.

“But she is still unable to eat and drink normally and requires a special tube.

“We are grateful that she is getting better, ” said Nuratikah.

Two suspects were arrested last week.

> After causing a stir when they showed up for an event in matching outfits, Erra Fazira and Shahir Zawawi’s names are linked again as they will appear in the new drama My Darling Inspector Daniel. In an interview with Utusan

Malaysia, Erra strongly denied that Shahir was cast just because she is in the lead role.

“Shahir and I don’t even have a scene together. So if people are calling it a gimmick, I don’t know. I am not involved with the cast selection,” said the actress, who will be co-starring with Aaron Aziz.

Asked if Shahir, her current partner, had asked her for any acting advice, she replied that she only wanted him to work hard and strive to stay relevant.

> Actor Nadzmi Adhwa told Harian Metro that the split from his girlfriend of six years allowed him to lose weight for his next role. He shed 16kg for the film Safari Mall, which will be released next year.

“After splitting last October, I really focused on work and my appearance. Actually, the production team of Safari Mall also asked me to lose some weight by dieting,” he said.

To lose weight quickly, he often ate only one meal a day.

But she is still unable to eat and drink normally and requires a special tube.
