PETALING JAYA: Walk 5km and stand a chance of driving home a spanking new set of wheels.

That’s exactly the deal for the #AnakAnak Malaysia Walk 2017 scheduled in Shah Alam on Aug 27.

A very lucky participant will drive home with the latest Proton Iriz 1.6L Premium.

The popular hatchback has a five-star rating and is acclaimed by automobile safety rating programme New Car Assessment Programme for Southeast Asia as one of the safest cars in Malaysia.

Proton Holdings Bhd CEO Datuk Ahmad Fuaad Kenali presented the award-winning car to Star Media Group managing director and CEO Datuk Seri Wong Chun Wai at Menara Star here yesterday.

Also present were Proton Edar Sdn Bhd CEO Abdul Rashid Musa, DRB-Hicom Head of Group Strategic Communications Division Mahmood Abdul Razak and Star Media Group chief operating officer Calvin Kan.

Ahmad Fuaad said Proton was proud to associate itself with the walk which was aimed at promoting peace, harmony and national unity.

“This year marks our 60th anniversary of independence. There is no better time than now to come together to show our love and support for our country,’’ he added.

Citing the Malay idiom Bersatu Teguh, Bercerai Roboh (United We Stand, Divided We Fall), the Proton chief said unity was the very foundation of the country’s success and prosperity.

“I call upon all Malaysians to support this meaningful event,’’ he added.

#AnakAnak Malaysia Walk is organised by Star Media Group with property developer Eco World Development Group Bhd to promote unity and patriotism in the lead-up to National Day.

Selangor Ruler Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah will flag off the walk at 6.30am at Dataran Kemerdekaan Shah Alam.

Other lucky draw prizes include a Panasonic 4K Smart LED TV, Gintell DeVano S Funtastic Massage Sofa, GoodNite Executive Series Kingsize Achievement Mattress Bed Set and three units of Ogawa Spin Pro B1.3 Exercise Bike.

The registration fee for families (two adults plus two children) is RM80, while the fee for individual adults (18 years and above) is RM40 and individual child (12 years and below) is RM15.
