Decades old and still a problem

I REFER to the current discussion highlighting yet again the heavy schoolbags which our poor young students have to carry every day to and from school.

This is a problem which has been brought up every year for a long time.

In the 1980s, my two young daughters had to suffer this problem. I remember the pain which my wife and I felt over the negative impact such excessive loads had on their growing bodies.

We even spoke to their teachers about it.

During my school days, I remember bringing only those books which were required to be used on that particular day.

Come on, Education Ministry, do something to solve this pressing issue. Protect the health of our young children. GRANDFATHER Kuala Lumpur
