Nasty Nasri a virtual outcast in Citizens’ tour of America

-

LONDON: Manchester City stars are reportedly questioning the decision to bring Samir Nasri (pic) on the club’s tour of America with the Frenchman being a virtual outcast on the trip.

The Citizens are desperately looking for a buyer as Pep Guardiola made clear he no longer figures in his plans at the Etihad.

And the DailyMail are claiming the 30-year-old’s mood in the camp has left his teammates bemused as to why he was not left to train in the North West, despite receiving praise from skipper Vincent Kompany last week.

A source told them: “The squad don’t understand why Nasri is even here.

“He is very unpopular due to his arrogant attitude. Some of the squad even want him to go back to Manchester.”

Nasri was a £ 24mil (RM134mil) signing from Arsenal back in 2011 and still has two years remaining on his City deal.

However, he was shipped out to Spanish side Sevilla on loan last season after being told he has no future with the English Premier League giants.

But Guardiola’s attempts to find a buyer for him have been complicated by a UEFA probe investigating whether he has breached doping regulations. Nasri visited a Drip Doctors clinic in Los Angeles last December and could have received intravenous treatment.

That could lead to a ban of up to four years if he is found guilty by Europe’s governing body.

Despite that, he still continues to train with the City squad in Los Angeles as they prepare to face Champions League holders Real Madrid tomorrow.

The La Liga title holders kicked off their International Champions Cup campaign with a penalty shootout defeat to Manchester United following a 1-1 draw on Sunday.

The Red Devils also defeated Guardiola’s side 2-0 last week in City’s opening game of the pre-season tournament.

In total, Nasri has played over 120 matches for the Citizens and helped them to win two Premier League titles and a League Cup since his arrival six years ago. — The Sun, London
