> Let’s stay united

A sporting event like the SEA Games brings all Malaysians together. It shows we can be united irrespective of race or faith. Similarly all political parties and politicians also fight for a better Malaysia. Respect each other’s different approach and accept that all want to serve the nation. Don’t demonise each other and be mature. This is my hope as a senior citizen of 80. Peace be with you.

> Lazy grasscutters

MBMB, please supervise the grasscutters in Taman Sinn, Ujong Pasir, Melaka. Grass cut but not swept on Sat, Aug 19. Also if swept, often into the drain. Real lazy and irresponsible work. Cukai pintu collected for such service? Don’t mess with Melaka? Lip service only. – Jeremy

> Best to you, regardless

Joseph Schooling, it’s all right, no hard feelings. All the best to you.

> Spruce up airport please

Melaka is listed as the 8th mustvisit place in Asia. Our tourist visitors exceed that of any state, yet we have one of the lousiest airports in the country. Sad

> Face-saving comes later

Why are parents & teachers so preoccupied about the hotspot listings. Now is not the time to save face but to work together to resolve serious issues like bullying, gangsterism, drugs, etc.

> IWK dragging feet

IWK is not responding to urgent messages of treatment plant breakdown in Ara Damansara. Complaint made on Wed, Aug 16. No action but IWK closed case. Septic tank abt to overflow. Call centre not taking complaints – only for billing. Pls help.

> We are 60!

Birthdays are an opportune time to give thanks for the blessings of being able to celebrate with family and friends no matter how moderate it may be. It is a good time to reflect on days gone by and to plan for an enriching and fulfilling future. Let’s also make plans to celebrate a meaningful 60th birthday for our beautiful country. – 5th Beatle

> Check hospital canteens

Not only the canteen at HTAR but canteen at Selayang Hospital should also be monitored. Check the authenticity of Milo please. The authorities are overwhelmingly keen on ambushing mamak restaurants only but close one eye on others even if it happens right in front of their eyes. – Tahir Salam

> Ipoh was best before too

To say that Ipoh has not been this clean before is really being ignorant of the history of Ipoh. It was perhaps much much cleaner during the Seenivasagam brothers’ time. Residents of Ipoh of that time who are still around will testify to this fact. – William Ong
