Free bus service for participants
Smart Selangor to offer rides
SHAH ALAM: Participants for the #AnakAnakMalaysia Walk 2017 on Sunday can opt for the Smart Selangor free bus service to get to Dataran Kemerdekaan here.
Since most of the roads around the venue will be closed for the safety of participants, the SA02 free bus service will be an ideal option.
The bus will pick up passengers near the Batu Tiga KTM station, which will benefit participants taking the KTM train services to Shah Alam from Subang, Kuala Lumpur and Petaling Jaya.
In a statement, KTM said its services will be delayed between 30 minutes and one hour.
“Participants should leave earlier to avoid delays,” it said.
Alternatively, participants may also opt to park their cars at the Shah Alam Stadium near the temporary bus terminal or the Section 13 commercial centre before hopping on to the SA04 free bus service.
There will be a bus every 15 minutes. The service will begin at 5.30am.
For those looking at parking their vehicles closer to the venue, there are several private parking facilities located some 150m away from the flag-off point.
The locations are Azalea Plaza, Persiaran Bandar Raya, and Wisma PKPS, Persiaran Perbandaran – both in Section 14, Shah Alam.
Another parking venue is at the Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Mosque.
Shah Alam City Council’s corporate communications head Shahrin Ahmad urged participants to opt for the environmentally friendly bus service.
“The bus service will save participants the hassle of looking for parking, providing them with a seamless travel option,” he said.
Shahrin also said using public transportation to the venue would reduce carbon emission, a continuous green effort promoted by the council among city folk.
