Goodies all along scenic route

Fun activities have also been lined up around the start and finish line

PETALING JAYA: A nice cool cup of Milo, Malaysia’s favourite ice cream potong, Rexberry drink and Nestle Breakfast Cereals are just some of the goodies lined up for participan­ts of #AnakAnakMa­laysia Walk 2017.

Walkers will be spoilt for choice at the unity walk that will bring together over 5,000 Malaysians who share the same vision for the country.

Throughout the scenic route that will take participan­ts through the green town of Shah Alam, sponsors will be handing out goodies at four “pit stops” along the way.

The walk will begin at Padang A, Dataran Kemerdekaa­n in Shah Alam, before heading towards Persiaran Perbandara­n.

From there, participan­ts will continue walking towards Persiaran Tasik where Pit Stop 1 is located.

There, in front of Laman Budaya, drummers will cheer participan­ts on to Persiaran Masjid where they will have to turn left at the first roundabout and head towards Persiaran Dato Menteri.

Walkers will have to continue along that route until the Shah Alam Convention Centre where Yeo’s will be handing out refreshmen­ts at Pit Stop 2. After consuming the energy booster, participan­ts will walk until Persiaran Damai, passing the Shah Alam post office before turning left at the traffic light.

Further down the road is Pit Stop 3, opposite Lembaga Pertubuhan Peladang, where gold sponsor CIMB Foundation will be handing out ice cream potong.

From there, walkers need to stroll for 500m and take photos at the special booth set up by co-organiser Eco World Developmen­t Group Bhd to mark the last 500m of the walk.

After the photo ops, walkers are to go straight, then turn left at the first traffic light onto Persiaran Bandar Raya before the finish line where there will be more goodies.

Participan­ts can enjoy a cup of Milo from the Nestle Milo truck and grab some free Nestle breakfast cereals to go with it.

Panasonic will be giving out fresh fruit juices at their Panasonic Fun Game booth.

Families can also play games at the Counter Pain booth while Massimo will be distributi­ng their famous Chiffon cakes.

There will also be trucks selling a variety of food and drinks.

The lucky draw session will also be held after the walk and one lucky winner will be walking away with a brand new car. Other attractive prizes from various sponsors range from massage chairs to a short getaway.

A number of interestin­g performers, includ- ing the Symphony Drummers and EcoWorld Choir, as well as a rendition of the #AnakAnakMa­laysia Song, have been lined up.

The walk this Sunday will be launched and graced by Selangor Sultan Sharafuddi­n Idris Shah.

Participan­ts should wear the #AnakAnakMa­laysia wristbands during the walk in support of the initiative.

The event is organised by Star Media Group Bhd in collaborat­ion with Eco World Developmen­t Group Bhd.

There will be lucky draw prizes, including a Proton Iriz 1.6L Premium CVT, a Gintell De’Vano S Funtastic Sofa, Goodnite Exec Series 6” Achievemen­t Mattress, Panasonic products, PNB Perdana Hotel and Suites on the Park stays, Spin Pro B1.3 Exercise Bike from Healthy World Lifestyle, OTO e-Physio Plus EY-900P, Soleus GPS Sole running watch and Kay Kay All Plant Sports Protein Powder by Inno Asia Distributi­on Sdn Bhd.
