(pic), who has drawn flak for modelling semi-nude, said she has been ready to receive criticism since she was 16 years old.

Alicia, whose full name is Raja Alicia Raja Amin, 22, said she needs to be brave when facing the challenges that come her way.

“Since I was 16, I have faced such situations when fighting for women’s rights as well as my personal views.

“Sometimes, the industry expects perfection, but we must be brave in taking the first step. Because of that, I want to do the best with what I have always,” she told mStar, The Star’s Malay portal.

Recently, Alicia, who is of Malay and German parentage, faced strong criticism on social media because she appeared seemingly nude in pictures used to promote a website selling women’s clothing.

The photo shoot on a beach is believed to have taken place in Melbourne, Australia, in 2016.

Alicia is said to be modelling for Victoria’s Secret.

The pictures have gone viral on social media.

Alicia, who is starring in the television series Meh Sandar Lagi, asked netizens not to just find fault but to look at a person’s good qualities.

“Finding fault with others will not make them happier. I know that my views may not be the same as other people’s, but I believe we live in a country that upholds our right to accept all cultures, races, religions and to live happily with one another,” she said.

The model also said she wants to challenge herself by taking on more acting roles in English and Bahasa Malaysia.

“I hope to take acting classes and improve my acting ability and skills.

“In fact, I am excited to learn and take in everything like a sponge. As long as the opportunities keep coming in, I want to try to challenge myself with more roles, whether they are in English or in Bahasa Malaysia,” said Alicia.

Meh Sandar Lagi is produced by Zeel Production and airs every Monday to Thursday at 7pm on TV3.
