Azmin elected Selangor Pakatan chief with four deputies

PETALING JAYA: Datuk Seri Azmin Ali is now the Selangor Pakatan Harapan chairman assisted by four deputies – one from each party in the coalition.

They are Tony Pua (DAP), Izham Hashim (Amanah), Datuk Abdul Rashid Asari (Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia) and R. Sivarasa (PKR).

“This morning’s meeting focused on the formation of the Selangor Pakatan Harapan leadership structure that does not merely consist of all the component parties, but one that displays a leadership with integrity that will represent all races.

“It also includes women leaders,” Azmin said in a statement to an nounce the leadership lineup after chairing the first ever meeting of the state Pakatan committee yesterday.

Azmin is also the Selangor mentri besar.

Wanita PKR chief and Ampang MP Zuraida Kamaruddin has been appointed as secretary and assisting her is Kamarul Hisham (Amanah).

Selangor state assembly speaker and Subang Jaya assemblyma­n Hannah Yeoh (DAP) has been appointed as the treasurer.

Datuk Dr Sukiman Sarmani (Pribumi) was named informatio­n chief while Dr Xavier Jayakumar (PKR) was appointed election director with Saari Sungib (Amanah) named manifesto committee chairman.

Gobind Singh Deo (DAP) was named legal bureau chairman.

Azmin said the meeting, attended by party leaders from all four component parties, discussed the election manifesto and machinery, including informatio­n programmes.
