PETALING JAYA: A lone robber walked away with RM46,000 during a brazen daylight bank heist in the city.

The man, wearing a face mask, went to the counter at the branch in Jalan Sultan Ismail.

Pulling out a parang from inside his bag, he ordered the counter staff to fill it with money, he then left through the front door and headed towards Sungai Wang Plaza.

There were no casualties during the 12.15pm incident yesterday, said Dang Wangi OCPD Asst Comm Mohd Sukri Kaman, adding that police have started a manhunt for the robber.

The bank premises was near empty at the time of the robbery, with only two employees manning the counter because the others were on their lunch break.
