Mystery man calls parents of missing undergrad

-

JOHOR BARU: Medical student Ho Zheng Han, who went missing for over a year without contacting his family, apparently wants his parents to give him some time.

His father Ho Seng Yeow, 55, said a man contacted him yesterday and told him not to worry about Zheng Han, 24, as he was “doing fine”.

“The man claimed to be my son’s close friend and according to him, Zheng Han wants my wife and me to stop worrying because he is healthy and doing well,” he said.

The friend, said Ho, also told him that Zheng Han would be returning home soon but for the moment, his son just wanted some more time.

“The man did not want to reveal his or my son’s whereabouts, assuring me that everything will be fine,” he added.

It was reported that the fourthyear Cambridge University medical student had gone missing for more than a year without contacting his family.

The Public Service Department (JPA) scholarship holder has another two years to complete his degree but had gone incommunicado since July last year.

JohorMCA Bureau of Coordinating Government Affairs chairman Michael Tay said he also received a call, believed to be from the same man who had contacted Ho.

He said the man called him yesterday to inform him that Zheng Han was safe and well.
