Woman allegedly abducted by admirer found

A WOMAN has been found after being allegedly abducted by an admirer in Johor Baru, major Chinese dailies reported.

Sin Chew Daily reported that the 36-year-old woman, who was with her friends, was taken by the man in Jalan Wong Ah Fook at about 8.20pm on Saturday.

A police report was lodged by her family members.

Johor Baru South OCPD Asst Comm Shahurinai­n Jais told reporters later that the woman was found and the man was detained for investigat­ion.

> The Associated Chinese Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Malaysia (ACCCIM) has set up a charity division, the same daily reported.

Its president Tan Sri Ter Leong Yap said the ACCCIM had raised close to RM20mil to help the needy since the 90s.

Ter said the charity arm would be headed by its vice-president Datuk Seri Choot Ching Khoon.

On Sunday, the ACCCIM organised a luncheon with members of the charity groups, including orphanages, invited to the event.

The committee members also served the first dish to each table.

> Olympic badminton champion Lin Dan has taken a holiday after winning his fourth singles gold at the China National Games on Friday, Nanyang Siang Pau reported.

He and his wife, former Chinese badminton star Xie Xingfang, were spotted at a restaurant in China on Saturday.

It is learnt that they were leaving for a holiday in Tokyo.
