Bumper entry for Challenge Iskandar Puteri
More than 800 athletes, led by Cameron Brown, will compete in this year’s Challenge Iskandar Puteri – the sixth race in the global Challenge series of full and half triathlon events – from Sept 21-23 at Iskandar Puteri in Johor.
The 43-year-old Brown is a legend among triathletes and still competes around the world. He continues to push beyond the limits of his age to clock impressive times.
Brown will also be a keynote speaker in the Challenge High Performance Interactive Clinic, which is free for registered participants of Challenge Iskandar Puteri 2017.
Brown and Fredrik Croneborg, another well-known international triathlete competing in this year’s race, will share tips on training, preparation and race techniques.
Other notable professional triathletes competing this year are Mitchell Kibby, Laurel Wassner, Kathryn Haessner, Nicholas Baldwin, Anna Eberhardt and Lachlan Kerin.
The race, which aims to be the number one triathlon event in SouthEast Asia, is sponsored by UEM Sunrise Bhd (UEM Sunrise).
“We are excited to be the title sponsor for Challenge Iskandar Puteri once again. This second installation of the race, as well as the fringe activities around it, will serve as a platform for us to communicate the vision and aspiration we have for Iskandar Puteri to the world,” said UEM Sunrise Berhad chief operating officer (development) Datuk Roslan Ibrahim.
The Challenge will be flagged off at Puteri Harbour, Iskandar Puteri, Johor on Sept 23. — Bernama
