DAP members want RoS to publish list of 2012 CEC voters

PUTRAJAYA: The Registrar of Societies (RoS) has been urged to publish the full list of 2,576 DAP members who voted in the party’s central executive committee (CEC) election in 2012.

L. Paneerselvam, G. Asoghan and A. Thirumalvalavan, who voted in that election, made the call in a memorandum submitted to the RoS yesterday.

“We want the names of the delegates, their MyKad numbers and their branches published in the media.

“This is the only way for the party to prove that it has nothing to hide and is transparent. If they don’t publish it, we are afraid DAP will bring in phantom voters for the re- election,” said Paneerselvam, who is a delegate from the Ehsan Klang branch.

He said the RoS should appoint an independent audit firm to oversee the CEC re-election it has ordered for the second time.

“We hope the RoS will look into our demand seriously. We are concerned about the lack of transparency,” he told reporters.

ities in the initial election of December 2012.

Some party members later claimed that they were not allowed to attend the party congress as delegates.

In June, RoS director-general Datuk Mohammad Razin Abdullah directed DAP to hold a re-election of the CEC using the 2012 delegates list.

It declared as null and void the 2013 re-election and deemed all those elected as unlawful in their positions.

The DAP has yet to fix the re-election date.
