Police storm a night of wild party and drugs, 74 detained.

JOHOR BARU: A night of wild partying and drugs came to an abrupt end for 74 youths when police stormed a bungalow at a golf resort here.

Among those detained were 26 females, including several teenage girls.

The youths were in a head-swinging frenzy to loud music and con- suming alcohol when police moved in about midnight yesterday.

Johor Baru North OCPD Asst Comm Mohd Taib Ahmad said many of the suspects, aged between 16 and 33, were high on drugs.

“Initial investigations showed that 22 of them tested positive for methamphetamine.

“We also seized eight ecstasy pills, 12 Erimin 5 pills, as well as a packet of a powdered drug believed to be ketamine.

“The organiser of the rave is a 21-year-old and three of his friends,” he said in a statement.

ACP Mohd Taib said police confiscated 42 entrance passes and music equipment during the raid.

He said six men and a 25-year-old woman are believed to be responsible for luring the youths to attend via a social media platform.

“Six other men aided in organis- ing the party. Apparently, there was an entrance fee – RM20 for females and RM30 for males,” he said.

ACP Mohd Taib said four men who were caught with drugs would be investigated under Section 12(3) of the Dangerous Drug Act 1952.

Nine others will be probed under Section 6(2) of the Johor State Entertainment Enactment for organising the event without a valid permit.
