SEPANG: It’s the last race in Sepang so the organisers are hoping that the fans will flock to the F1 circuit for what has been dubbed the grand F1nale.

Sepang International Circuit (SIC) chief executive officer Datuk Razlan Razali said Sepang circuit needed more fans to come if it wanted to host the race again sometime in the future.

About 60,000 tickets have been sold so far, he said, adding that with prices as low as RM30, he expected about 75,000 to 80,000 people to come this Sunday.

“Some people think that we have signed a new contract.

“But this is the last Formula 1 race that we will be hosting,” he said

Razlan said for this year’s event, there will be a swimming pool at the mall area and a flying fox zipline activities at the main grandstand.

Other attractions will include a wave the flag and podium jump activities for kids.

“We will also have four RMAF FA/18 fighter jets performing a fly-past during the performance of the National Anthem on Sunday,” he said.

He added that two concerts would be held during the race weekend.

Among the artistes scheduled to perform are M. Nasir, Jaclyn Victor, Ayda Jebat, Aiman Tino, Rossa, Harris Baba, and Akim & The Majistret.

Security will be tight for the race and police officers will be stationed at the circuit roundthe-clock throughout the event.

Fans can still purchase tickets by going online to www.sepangcircuit.com.my, at the KLCC centre court as well as Nu Sentral shopping mall.
