Man fights with DBKL workers during car clamping ops

-

PETALING JAYA: Another road user has been caught on camera fighting with municipal council personnel over a parking violation.

This latest incident happened on Monday in Taman Segar, Cheras.

In the four-minute video, a man can be seen fighting with DBKL personnel after his car was clamped yesterday.

Two women, believed to be family members, were seen trying to hold the man back, with taunting from both sides being heard.

The motorist can also be seen retrieving a small rod from his car, before almost coming to blows with one of the men.

Cheras OCPD Asst Comm Chong Kok Sin said a police report was made by a DBKL employee.

“He and his colleague as well as two other men had clamped the car after it was parked outside the designated box.

“The team, which included the two men from a company appointed by the council, was conducting a car clamping operation within the area.

“After receiving instructions from the DBKL call centre and receiving word that the offender would pay the fine, he and his colleagues went to unclamp the car.

“But a misunderstanding occurred and there was pushing during the argument that ensued,” said ACP Chong.

Following investigations, ACP Chong said police arrested the man, who is a 38-year-old Grab driver.
