Hurri-Kane hits Nicosia

Kane warns Ron that Spurs are ready to roll over Real Madrid

-

Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane is delighted after scoring the second of his three goals in their 3- 0 win over APOEL Nicosia during the Champions League Group H match at the GSP Stadium in Cyprus on Tuesday. English Premier League leaders Manchester City also won – defeating Shakhtar Donetsk 2- 0 in Group F. Liverpool, however, drew 1-1 against Spartak Moscow in Group E.

LONDON: Harry Kane has warned Cristiano Ronaldo that Tottenham Hotspur are coming to roll over Real Madrid in their Champions League showdown at the Bernabeu next month.

The Spurs striker and the Portuguese superstar will come face to face for the first time when their clubs meet in Madrid for the first part of their Group H doubleheader on Oct 17.

Both teams have a 100% record from their opening two matches after Kane’s perfect hattrick gave the North Londoners a 30 win over APOEL Nicosia in Cyprus on Tuesday.

The England ace said: “That has given us confidence going to Madrid definitely. We feel we can beat anyone on our day.

“Of course we know it will be tough but two good teams, an open game probably.

“It will probably come down again to who is more clinical in the final third, hopefully that can be us.

“We are going there to win, not just to get a result, and we will see what happens.”

All eyes will be on sharpshooters Kane and Ronaldo and the Spurs man admitted: “I’ve never met him before but I’m a fan, of course.

“I’m a fan of all great footballers and he is one of the best, specially of my generation.

“We probably won’t be up against each other much in the game but it’s always great to play the best in the world.

“They have one of the best defences with Ramos, Marcelo, players like that.

“I want to test myself against the best and they have been the best the last few years without a doubt.

“I’m looking forward to it as I’ve never been to the Bernabeu. So it’s going to be exciting.

“I want to put in a performance like I have been recently.”

Kane’s perfect treble against APOEL – the first with his left foot, the second with his right and the third with his head – took his goal tally for 2017 to 34.

That is just one less than West Ham have netted this year.

Kane seems to have perfected the art of goalscoring, yet he said: “It’s not easy but as a striker I’m confident, I’m feeling good.

“I took my chances well tonight. I’m happy. I want to play every game and I’m ready to score again on Saturday.

“But the most important thing for me is always winning and to win the first two games in the Champions League is vital.

“Hopefully we can get through as soon as possible.” — The Sun, London
