Sauce factories also fined over hygiene

-

A BREAD factory in Kota Baru was ordered to shut down while two sauce factories were issued compounds by the Kota Baru District Health Office for violating hygiene standards, reported Kosmo!

District Environmental Health Officer Mat Ghahit Mohamed said that raw ingredients were left exposed to pests such as rats at the bread factory.

“In addition, two factory workers did not undergo health checks and were not vaccinated, and they did not wear head-coverings while handling food,” said Mat Ghahit.

For the two sauce factories, both were found to have committed violations such as their workers not being vaccinated against typhoid and not following clothing regulations in handling food, Mat Ghahit added.

The bread factory was ordered to close for 14 days.
