Teaming up for more vroom power
BHPetrol and Silverstone partners in CarSifu awards and auto show
PETALING JAYA: Two well-known brands – Boustead Petroleum Marketing ( BHPetrol) and Silverstone Marketing – have come onboard as partners of CarSifu Editors’ Choice Awards 2017 and CarSifu Auto Show 2017.
As partners, both companies will be setting up booths at the auto show scheduled to be held at Mid-Valley Megamall, Kuala Lumpur, from Oct 25 to 29. CarSifu is the motoring section of the Star Media Group.
The auto show is the follow-up to the CarSifu Editors’ Choice Awards 2017 in which 31 categories includ- ing “Car of the Year” are up for grabs.
The winners of the awards will be announced at a gala dinner on Oct 5.
Short-listed cars will be evaluated in key areas such as safety, performance, comfort, fuel economy, handling, styling as well as their individual “wow” factor.
The vehicles are from BMW, Chevrolet, Ford, Honda, Hyundai, Infiniti, Isuzu, Jaguar, Kia, Lexus, Maserati, Mazda, Mercedes-Benz, MINI, Mitsubishi, Nissan, Peugeot, Porsche, Proton, Renault, Toyota, Volkswagen, Volvo and Westar-Maxus.
Star Media Group chief operating officer Calvin Kan, in welcoming the partners, said the participation of BHPetrol and Silverstone would broaden the scope of the auto show to include non-automobile players.
“The inclusion of fuel and tyre players will definitely create variety compared with just an all-vehicle show,” he said.
BHPetrol retail marketing manager Baba Tan said the partnership with Star Media Group would create a good opportunity for BHPetrol to promote its brand of fuel and reach out to visitors of the auto show.
Silverstone advertising and promotions manager Carmen Yap said automobile and tyre industries were closely-knit and the auto show would be a good venue for the tyre maker to showcase its products and technologies.
