Graduating with flying colours
INFRASTRUCTURE University Kuala Lumpur (IUKL) celebrated its 1,050 graduates receiving their scrolls in a convocation held over three sessions.
These comprised four with PhD and 54 Master’s qualifications, 679 with Bachelor Degrees and 313 with Diplomas at the 15th IUKL convocation ceremony held recently.
Of this, 55% were locals with the remaining 45% from over 30 countries around the world.
They received their scrolls from IUKL chancellor Tan Sri Wan Abdul Rahman Wan Yaacob and pro-chancellor academician Datuk Lee Yee Cheong.
The conferment of the PhDs, Master’s degrees, Bachelor of Civil Engineering and Bachelor of Business Administration was completed in the first session and was presided by the chancellor.
The presentation of the Vice-Chancellor’s Award to the top students was also presented in this session. The chancellor conferred the Bachelor Degrees for other programmes in the second session.
The third session was presided by IUKL pro-chancellor who presented the Diplomas for other programmes.
The Vice-Chancellor’s Award recipients were Phoebe Shafinaz Jasni and Lai Jet Kee who graduated with a Bachelor of Communication in Integrated Marketing Communication and a Bachelor of Civil Engineering respectively. Phoebe Shafinaz is also the Valedictorian.
Held at the university’s main hall, the event was witnessed by IUKL vice-chancellor Prof Dr Roslan Zainal Abidin, the IUKL man- agement team, parents, representatives from embassies and distinguished guests.
To date, IUKL has produced more than 7,000 graduates who are serving in the government and private sectors in Malaysia as well as abroad. They are in various fields including Engineering, Business, Education, Communication, Language Studies, Architecture, Biotechnology and Information Technology.
